After getting her start in New York at Magnum photo agency, she spent 7 years as assistant to renowned documentary photographer Elliott Erwitt. Now for the last three years, she has worked as an independent photographer specializing in fashion and portraiture.
Her recent shot campaigns include Wacoal L'ge (S/S 2011), Sony Nex 3, Nex 5 Worldwide Advertising, Elle Japan and Numero Tokyo. Yayoi divides her time between New York and Japan while working internationally wherever her clients request.
