Natalie ChapmanNatalie Chapman

Natalie Chapman’s handcrafted dress line is the newest imported from Australia to land stateside. Debuting her collection to the American public last week at Aust rade's annual G'Day USA event, Chapman was one of nine rising designers handpicked to showcase.

Launched in 2007, the namesake brand of what Chapman calls “just dresses” provides a synergy of practicality and style, offering versatile pieces for work and play. “It was very impor tant for me to go back to the basics,” Chapman says of the latest collection. “I wanted to create a clean, beautiful canvas so the wearer can infuse her own style, essentially making the piece her own.”

With an unwavering commitment to style and quality, Chapman hand-sews each piece f rom the f inest Italian fabrics. Her inspiration is drawn purely from the vibrant colors of the aquatic and the natural surroundings of her native Australia’s great barrier reef—the luscious blues of the oceans and golden sunsets that reflect off of the water—which is capsulated in Natalie’s pieces. Chapman has always had a keen interest in fashion and holds an advanced degree in Fashion Design. While she started out designing handbags, she later found her calling in designing resort dresses iconic of the laid-back Australian lifestyle. The brand has already garnered the attention of both internat ional and American retailers, as well as members of the media. You can find Natalie Chapman's desgins online at www.leblackbook.com.au

Kaur

Kaur

Harman Kaur Dhillon launched Kaur Collection jewelry in April 2009. After her extensive experience in the high-end fashion industry, using her creative energy to design statement jewelry was the natural next step.

She derives the inspiration for her collection from her Indian heritage. In the sixteenth century, women of Mughal royalty were given large mirrorrings to be worn on their thumbs to check their appearance to ensure they were flawless at all times. Her middle name, Kaur, means princess in Punjabi, creating a perfect platform for Kaur Collection. Harman has fused this concept with the look of art deco for a totally modern collection. A lover of statement jewelry along with a love of mirror detailing, Harman knows that these pieces will stand out and make a bold yet refined statement. Each piece is made with 18k gold plating.

Seychelles

Seychelles

Seychelles shoes are designed for a girl with a different point of view: independent and romantic with a sharp eye for mixing the best vintage elements with modern designs. The Seychelles girl has a love of decades past, and her look is influenced by starlets of classic film, music and literature: complex and glamorous beauties with equal parts sex appeal and intellect. Whether taking a night-time stroll through the city or getting lost in an old copy of Wuthering Heights, the Seychelles girl is a dreamer and a rebel. She is on a constant quest to find shoes that suit her mood.

Seychelles fills this need by delivering styles as diverse as she is, from flats and sandals to heels and boots, all with the perfect blend of cutting edge looks and timeless vintage details.
