RESTORE

One of the many outstanding qualities of eco friendly fashion is the innovative use of materials, taking what we would not expect to use or reuse to make lovely and earth friendly designs. It’s outstanding to me the way designers apply themselves to the challenge of revamping clothing production to embrace eco friendly practices. Their work is paving the way for future generations and I believe that this innovation of today will slowly make its way into becoming the norm. These pioneers have that amazing ability to approach things from a new perspective, embracing our technology to explore and evolve. Utilizing the positive aspects of our technological capabilities, RESTORE is one inspiring example for our future possibilities in which technology and the earth can walk hand in hand towards a progressive future.

RESTORE Clothing’s sleek athletic designs, that are timeless yet strikingly modern, embody this progressive innovative perspective of eco consciousness. Sharp designs created with high quality fabrics distinguished not only for their performance but also for their earth friendly and sustainable properties. RESTORE not only adheres to eco conscious guidelines but pushes ahead to innovate, acting as the first retailer for many cutting edge environmental fabrics. Stayed tuned as this coming May/June, RESTORE will be transitioning to the newly available REPREVE, a 100% recycled nylon and the very first to market. Standing alongside Cocona, eco friendly linings, activated carbon made amazingly from coconut shells. Garments are all “Made in NYC”, Cut and Sewn to stand the test of time in sweatshop-free factories. Their work has earned them the prestigious Green America Seal and has been commended for "keeping it local", SBNYC and BALLE .

Repreve is made from 100% recycled materials, offsetting the need to use new crude oil. On average, every pound of Repreve yarn conserves the equivalent of half a gallon of gasoline. Repreve yarn requires less energy to produce. Crude oil refining is a long process that consumes precious natural resources and energy—far more than it takes to process recycled materials into Repreve. When you buy products made with Repreve, you're supporting a company that will conserve the equivalent of 10,000,000 gallons of gas by 2010, by making recycled yarns. Nylon is highly durable, easy to wash and care for, resistant to insects, fungi and mildew. It dries quickly and usually does not need to be ironed

RESTORE works to source fabrics that maintain production procedures that improve the environmental footprint of their product. It all starts with the fabric and the finest "hand", responsibly sourced here in North America. This keeps revenue in local economies and uses less fossil fuel for transportation. Repreve yarn is third-party certified for 100% recycled content. Every year, Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) performs a full examination of their recycled products, including their recycling process, production records, and manufacturing operations. SCS is a leading third-party certifier and standards developer of environmental and sustainability claims.

According to the suppliers of new materials, the fabric mill adheres to environmental regulations concerning production, beginning with meeting guidelines regarding product dyes and chemicals. Furthermore, fabric mill goes above and beyond standard requirements:

•Successfully reduced their VOC air emissions (Volatile Organic Compounds) by 30% and HAPS (Hazardous Air Pollutants) by 54% to a level well below allowable permit levels. In addition, Fabric Mill has installed pollution control devices on all tenter frames to control opacity of the stack exhausts again well below permit levels. Fabric Mill has installed new waste water treatment PH controls reducing their impact on the local water treatment municipality. In addition, the conscious effort of selecting environmentally friendly chemicals has reduced their BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) levels being discharged by 40% to levels again well below allowable permit requirements.

•Reduced their impact on the local water supply by installing new water treatment PH controls. In addition, the conscious effort of selecting environmentally friendly chemicals has reduced their BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) levels being discharged by 40% to levels again well below allowable permit requirements.

• As well as continuous strives to minimize solid waste, utilize recycled products and conserve energy. They are also in the process of having a third party engineering study to help them identify areas of energy reduction.

Cocona

Cocona Lining: 50% Cocona / 50% Polyester.

RESTORE fabricates its linings from an intimate blend of Cocona, an activated carbon made from the shells of coconuts, a by-product of the food industry and polyester.

The carbon in the Cocona linings acts as both a sponge and a filter, to absorb perspiration and to neutralize odor making the wearer confident and comfortable even after the most intense workout. Cocona also dries quickly making it a great line-dry and easy-care option to "WASH RESPONSIBLY".

Soft to the touch, RESTORE also works with fabulous fabric blends containing third party certified organic cotton; for trimmings utilizing Ideal Earth Zippers, a line of eco friendly zippers and not to mention 100% post consumer recycled paper for garment hangtags!

RESTORE CLOTHING, was born when fashion industry veterans Céleste and Anthony Lilore combined their experience in fashion with their driving interests in wellness and the environment. When Céleste needed an eco-friendly replacement for fabrics containing polyester and nylon, she looked to Unifi. RESTORE began using Unifi’s REPREVE polyester, and was instrumental in getting REPREVE nylon developed. RESTORE CLOTHING was the first to adopt REPREVE nylon in a commercial program. Unifi’s REPREVE yarns are featured in several of RESTORE’S styles – the Crossover Tank, Crossover Bra, Drape Front Top, Active Short, Active Capri, Active Pant and Hoodie. Made from 100% preconsumer repreve recycled nylon
