After getting her start in New York at Magnum photo agency, Photographer Yayoi Sawada spent 7 years as assistant to renowned documentary photographer Elliott Erwitt. And Now for the last three years, she has worked as an independent photographer specializing in fashion and portraiture.
Make Up Artist: Dianna Esteves Vieira
Dianna Esteves Vieira is distinguished as a Holistic Makeup Artist & Wellness Expert. She is experienced with training under Laura Mercier and with a well rounded background in Make Up, ranging from celebrity, television, music video and working with top photographers.
After having fallen ill a couple of years ago, she had to completely undergo a dietary & lifestyle change because she was unable to consume any processed & unhealthy foods, and so she began her daily ritual of shopping at the raw & organic market. With this change, she also disposed of all toxic cosmetics & toiletries. After this experience she now uses only organic/natural mineral based cosmetics, skin care & hair products. As she researched into the hidden dangers of ingredients in most of these product, she shares her knowledge to educate women on the importance of refraining from such chemicals and to opt for natural/organic brands without sacrificing quality. Carrie began her career in New Jersey as a stylist and educator for Rusk, but considers New York to be the true birthplace of her career. She started in downtown Manhattan as the apprentice to Patrick Melville at MCM Salon and Patrick Melville Salon, where she honed her skills as a stylist, educator, and freelance editorial stylist
Carrie joined Salon AKS in 2010. She was attracted to Salon AKS' friendly, relaxed atmosphere in a sophisticated Midtown Manhattan setting. The salon's reputation for being high end, yet unpretentious was an instant right fit for Carrie. In addition to her work in-salon and with celebrities, Carrie has an extensive background styling for fashion shows. Her styles have graced the runways for celebrated designers such as Calvin Klein, Bill Blass, David Delfin, and Alice+Olivia.
Carrie's work and expertise has been featured in a vast array of editorial including Health, The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Vogue India, Glamour, Women's Day, FamilyCircle.com and TeenVogue.com. Her work has been on top television programs such as MTV's TRL, The View, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Early Show, The Rachael Ray Show, Ellen, and American Idol.
